2001 Male Amateur Athlete of the Year

Dan Langhi

Last year as a senior, Dan Langhi not only emerged as Vanderbilt's team leader and one of the premier talents in the Southeastern Conference, he developed into a legitimate NBA prospect.

Langhi capped a successful season by being named the 2000 SEC Player of the Year and was one of 22 finalists for the Wooden Award.

In addition, Langhi was the first Vanderbilt player since TSHF inductee Clyde Lee to lead the SEC in scoring and finished the year as the nation's ninth leading scorer with a 22.2 ppg. During the 1999-2000 season, Langhi scored 20 plus points in 19 of 29 games.

He has 1,502 career points and is 10th in all-time scoring at Vanderbilt. Also, Langhi ranks seventh all-time in 3-point field goals made at Vanderbilt with 138. He capped his senior season by being selected to compete for the National 3-Point Shooting Title at last year's Final Four in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Langhi currently plays for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association.
